Srijit & Nidhi A wedding portrait session at Radisson Blu, Bangalore, with Srijit and Nidhi

This page keeps photographs from one day of Srijit and Nidhi's wedding at Radisson Blu, a portrait session rather than a ceremony. The groom got ready first, a dark suit, cufflinks, a watch, a shoe laced by hand, before a long set of portraits with Nidhi across the property.

The two of them stood in front of a wall of green leaves, near a round sign reading EUROPA 360, against a curved orange backdrop, and again and again in front of a mural painted with autumn leaves, where they held each other close. A baby in the family was passed between them and photographed on her own, and a wider family group gathered for a portrait against the same mural.

The session closed with a set of solo portraits of the groom against an abstract painting in warm browns and gold, in a grey three piece suit and then a waistcoat alone.

He Said Years Will Pass. But Good Photographs Become More Valuable With Time.

That was my first phone call with Anand. As a bride you already have too much going on. You should not be worrying about angles, whether your family made it into the frames, or whether your photographer is awkward around you. Anand and his team handle all of that so you can be present at your wedding. By the wedding day, I already knew we were in good hands.

Five Minutes Into Meeting Anand, the Search Was Over.

I had shortlisted a few and started making calls. Five minutes into meeting Anand, I knew I wanted him to shoot my wedding. He puts in real effort to know our story and our family before the wedding. On the day, he was there for everything. He brings a reassuring presence and works comfortably with both couples and families.

Every Time I See My Wedding Photos, I Relive the Day.

Anand does not just click pictures. He documents moments and emotions in a way that lets you relive them. With minimal inputs and the chaos of a wedding, he covered all the important people and events. What stood out was his consistency, attention to detail, and ability to handle a complex wedding smoothly.

He Sought Out the People Closest to Me. Even My Grandmother Who Hates Photos.

For my wedding at Bangalore, Anand did the candid photography. He himself identified and met the people closest to me, made them feel at ease, and shot their pictures. They turned out to be the best photos of my wedding. My grandmother who hates photos has her nicest pictures from that day. He also honored the solemnity of a traditional Coorg Kodava ceremony, which made the event more meaningful for us.

Questions

Is your wedding photography candid or posed?

Our wedding photography combines candid moments with beautifully posed photographs. We personally love candid images because they feel real, capture genuine emotion, and stand the test of time. But we do not believe posed photographs are any less meaningful.

The key is communication. We guide our camera shy couples, help them feel comfortable in front of the camera, and show them how a little direction can make a portrait look natural and effortless. Once they experience the difference, posing becomes something to enjoy rather than feel awkward about.

We plan couple portraits and group photographs in advance, while leaving room for the unexpected moments that make every wedding unique. The result is a wedding story with the best of both worlds: genuine moments and portraits you will be proud to frame.

What should we ask a wedding photographer before booking?

Do not judge a wedding photographer only by their Instagram profile (follower count, a highlight reel or portraits) . Most photographers share their best, carefully selected images there. What you rarely see is the reality of a wedding: the crowds, the chaos, several things happening at once, and guests trying to get their own pictures.

Ask to see two or three complete wedding galleries. Look at how the photographer works in crowded spaces, handles difficult lighting, finds clean compositions, and captures expressions and moments amid all the activity. Pay attention to their artistic perspective, the way they use light, and their editing style, including colours, tones, and warmth. Are the photographs simply documenting what happened, or do they have a distinct point of view?

A complete gallery tells you much more than a collection of Instagram highlights. It helps you understand how the photographer sees a wedding and whether their style is one you connect with. If you love the work across an entire wedding, not just a handful of selected photographs, you can make a far more informed decision.

At The Third Eye Photography, our wedding stories give you a closer look at how we document celebrations beyond the highlights. For example, Ramit and Arushi's wedding at Ramada Lucknow includes their blacklight party in Lucknow and other events, giving you a better sense of our work in real wedding conditions. .

Can you photograph rituals that start before sunrise?

Yes. We have photographed rituals that begin before sunrise, some as early as 4 AM. We plan our arrival around the actual ritual timing your family gives us, not a generic call sheet.

What if the wedding schedule runs late?

Indian weddings rarely run to the printed timeline, so we plan the coverage around the realistic one. Send us the timeline your family expects, not the one on the invitation, before the wedding, and the second planning call walks through it event by event.

What happens if we postpone or cancel the wedding?

25 percent of the total fee is non-refundable. When you book, we block your date and the photographers for it, and we pay them to keep it free. That payment is what the 25 percent covers, so it is not returned if the wedding is cancelled.

If you need to postpone, tell us the new date as early as you can. We will try to move your booking to it, which depends on whether we are free on that date. If we are not, the 25 percent is forfeited and not refunded. We would rather say this plainly now than promise a date we have not checked. Check your date.
