He Said Years Will Pass. But Good Photographs Become More Valuable With Time.

That was my first phone call with Anand. As a bride you already have too much going on. You should not be worrying about angles, whether your family made it into the frames, or whether your photographer is awkward around you. Anand and his team handle all of that so you can be present at your wedding. By the wedding day, I already knew we were in good hands.

Five Minutes Into Meeting Anand, the Search Was Over.

I had shortlisted a few and started making calls. Five minutes into meeting Anand, I knew I wanted him to shoot my wedding. He puts in real effort to know our story and our family before the wedding. On the day, he was there for everything. He brings a reassuring presence and works comfortably with both couples and families.

Every Time I See My Wedding Photos, I Relive the Day.

Anand does not just click pictures. He documents moments and emotions in a way that lets you relive them. With minimal inputs and the chaos of a wedding, he covered all the important people and events. What stood out was his consistency, attention to detail, and ability to handle a complex wedding smoothly.

He Sought Out the People Closest to Me. Even My Grandmother Who Hates Photos.

For my wedding at Bangalore, Anand did the candid photography. He himself identified and met the people closest to me, made them feel at ease, and shot their pictures. They turned out to be the best photos of my wedding. My grandmother who hates photos has her nicest pictures from that day. He also honored the solemnity of a traditional Coorg Kodava ceremony, which made the event more meaningful for us.

Questions

What does a wedding at Golden Palms Resort look like?

Golden Palms Resort, officially The Golden Palms Hotel & Spa, sits off Tumkur Road on the edge of Bangalore, with landscaped lawns, a large pool deck and indoor banquet halls. On Day 2 of Ankush and Avani's wedding the lawn held a yellow canopy, a bright rangoli and rows of white chairs with blue sashes, used for the haldi and an afternoon of dancing.

The evening moved indoors to a hall with a flower arch, tall candles and a stage lit in pink and purple. Day 1 of the same wedding is on its own page.

What happens at a haldi ceremony?

At a haldi, relatives and friends apply turmeric paste to the person being honoured, usually on the face, hands and feet, and the room fills with laughter. At Ankush and Avani's haldi the room was dressed in yellow. A groom with a red tilak had turmeric rubbed onto his cheek and his feet while people stood close and women in yellow laughed with paste on their own faces.

The haldi frames here are mostly about the faces around Ankush: a man laughing at the side of the room, women in yellow with turmeric on their own cheeks, and people leaning in with both hands.

Is your wedding photography candid or posed?

Our wedding photography combines candid moments with beautifully posed photographs. We personally love candid images because they feel real, capture genuine emotion, and stand the test of time. But we do not believe posed photographs are any less meaningful.

The key is communication. We guide our camera shy couples, help them feel comfortable in front of the camera, and show them how a little direction can make a portrait look natural and effortless. Once they experience the difference, posing becomes something to enjoy rather than feel awkward about.

We plan couple portraits and group photographs in advance, while leaving room for the unexpected moments that make every wedding unique. The result is a wedding story with the best of both worlds: genuine moments and portraits you will be proud to frame.

Do you shoot wedding films as well as photographs?

Yes. We offer wedding photography, films, and related services as part of a coordinated team. From the haldi and sangeet to the wedding ceremony and reception, we plan the coverage around your events. We also offer to conduct personal interviews with your closest family members and friends, capturing their stories, memories, and wishes for you. Tell us which events and services you have in mind, and we will put together a package around your requirements.

How many photographs will we get from our wedding?

Every wedding has a minimum number of photographs, agreed with you and written into your booking confirmation. We set it once we know the number of events, the guest count and the family members you want covered, so there is no fixed count across weddings. A wedding with a haldi, a mehendi, a sangeet and a reception gets a different minimum from a single ceremony.

What happens if we postpone or cancel the wedding?

25 percent of the total fee is non-refundable. When you book, we block your date and the photographers for it, and we pay them to keep it free. That payment is what the 25 percent covers, so it is not returned if the wedding is cancelled.

If you need to postpone, tell us the new date as early as you can. We will try to move your booking to it, which depends on whether we are free on that date. If we are not, the 25 percent is forfeited and not refunded. We would rather say this plainly now than promise a date we have not checked. Check your date.

Can you photograph rituals that start before sunrise?

Yes. We have photographed rituals that begin before sunrise, some as early as 4 AM. We plan our arrival around the actual ritual timing your family gives us, not a generic call sheet.
